| What is a Compound Subject? |
A compound subject is when two or more people or things do the action in a sentence.
- The pronoun I is used in the subject.
- Remember: I = subject of the verb β
Examples:
- π« Tom and I went to the park.
- π My brother and I play basketball every weekend.
Tip: Always put others first and I last!
- β Wrong: I and Tom went to the park.
- β Correct: Tom and I went to the park.

A compound object is when two or more people or things receive the action in a sentence.
- The pronoun me is used in the object.
- Remember: Me = object of the verb or preposition β
Examples:
- π She gave gifts to Tom and me.
- πΆ The teacher called my friends and me.
Tip: Always put others first and me last!
- β Wrong: She gave gifts to me and Tom.
- β Correct: She gave gifts to Tom and me.

- Take out the other person in the sentence.
- Ask yourself if I or me sounds correct alone.
Example:
