Some verbs in English do not follow the regular -ed rule to form the past tense. These are called irregular verbs. They change completely or differently in the past tense.

A verb that does not add -ed in the past tense.

They change their spelling or stay the same.

Example:

  • eat โ†’ ate ๐ŸŽโžก๏ธ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ

Irregular verbs cannot be predicted; you just have to learn them.

Some verbs change vowels:

Some verbs change completely:
