Another name for the multiplicative inverse is the <strong>reciprocal<\/strong>. Thinking of it another way: <em>To find the multiplicative inverse of a number, simply flip it!<\/em> This works for fractions and whole numbers (because any whole number can be written as a fraction over 1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">For any number <em>x<\/em>, its multiplicative inverse is 1\/<em>x<\/em>, as long as <em>x<\/em> is not zero.
