With \u2018and\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Two subjects joined by <strong>and<\/strong> usually take a <strong>plural verb<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Example: <strong>Ravi and Sita are \ud83d\udc69\u200d\ud83e\uddb0\ud83d\udc68\u200d\ud83e\uddb1 friends.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. With \u2018or\u2019 \/ \u2018nor\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The verb agrees with the <strong>subject closest<\/strong> to it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Example: <strong>Either the teacher or the students are ready.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Example: <strong>Neither the students nor the teacher is ready.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Indefinite pronouns<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Always singular<\/strong>: everyone, someone, anybody, nobody \u2192 use singular verbs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Everyone loves \u2764\ufe0f chocolate.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Always plural<\/strong>: few, many, both \u2192 use plural verbs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Many are attending the party \ud83c\udf89.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. Collective nouns<\/strong> (team, class, family)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Usually <strong>singular<\/strong> if acting as <strong>one unit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The team wins \ud83c\udfc6 every match.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Plural if <strong>acting individually<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The team are arguing \ud83d\ude21 among themselves.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5. Amounts &amp; Quantities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Singular if seen as <strong>one whole<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ten dollars is \ud83d\udcb5 enough.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Plural if referring to <strong>individual items<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ten coins are \ud83e\ude99 on the table.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6.
